Teacher Innovation Fishbowl on March 24

During the March 24 TIME2Innovate meeting, a group of invited teachers participated in a fishbowl experience.  They were teachers selected from schools visited by the board of the Classroom of the Future Foundation in December 2008 and January 2009.  All of them were doing interesting things, many enhanced by technology, most with inspiring stories of how they changed their instructional practices.

Use this discussion thread to build on the conversations.

Re: Teacher Innovation Fishbowl on March 24

The fishbowl discussion was very lively and productive.  I captured about 15 pages of notes, which I will post over the next few days here and in the Enhancing Student Engagement forum.

We had 11 teachers from the 3 districts involved in the CFF tours:

    • Danielle Adams, San Miguel Elementary, Lemon Grove District
    • Melvetta Owens, San Miguel Elementary, Lemon Grove District
    • Terrie Perez, Emerald Middle, Cajon Valley District
    • Jennie Tsay, Naranca Elementary, Cajon Valley District
    • Amie Harris, Naranca Elementary, Cajon Valley District
    • Jacklyn Pike, Naranca Elementary, Cajon Valley District
    • Cheryl Raimondo, Naranca Elementary, Cajon Valley District
    • Melissa Shanahan, Naranca Elementary, Cajon Valley District
    • Robin Larson, Prospect Avenue Elementary, Santee District
    • Gillian Ryan, Pepper Drive Elementary, Santee District
    • Cindi Crandal, Pepper Drive Elementary, Santee District

In addition, we had another 11 teachers from the TIME2Innovate group and 4 CFF board members participating!  It was a lively group with impressive things to talk about.

The fishbowl discussion focused on three topics

    • How do you teach differently in your classroom?
    • What technology, if any, do you use in your classroom?
    • What enabled you to change how you teach?

    More details later . . .

    Cheers
